For our class session on Thursday, 24 January please read pages 50-71 in The Resistance to Poetry, which corresponds to chapters 5 and 6. As with the previous sessions, we will begin class with a short quiz covering this material, then discuss the main concepts found in these two chapters.
We will return to the Matt Hart poems from last class that we didn't have a chance to discuss, as well as the Catherine Wing poems "The Darker Sooner" and "Evolution Song" on the Poetry Foundation's website. Again, we will consider both Hart and Wing's poems relative to the concepts we discuss in Longenbach.
